When I first started my fitness journey, I was all in.
Peloton rides every day, hiking every weekend, and pushing hard to lose weight and build strength.
Fast-forward to today: I don’t train with that same level of intensity because I don’t need to anymore. I've entered maintenance mode.
Here’s the important part:
This version of me—the one who’s lean, healthy, and in maintenance mode—isn’t operating on some brand-new plan.
It’s the same strategy I started with two years ago.
- The goal: Stay healthy, stay strong, and feel good.
- The mission: Care for my body over the long haul.
- The strategy: Move consistently and eat well.
The only thing that’s changed? The tactics.
Instead of 10-mile hikes every weekend, I do shorter workouts. Instead of obsessing over every single meal, I eat in a way that feels sustainable. But everything I do is still aligned with my core strategy.
What does this have to do with your business? Absolutely Everything.
Most business owners treat marketing like a fad diet:
❌ They go all in when they need clients—posting daily, engaging constantly, doing the absolute most.
❌ Then, the second they’re booked? Radio silence.
The problem with that? Contracts end. Projects wrap. Inquiries slow. Then comes the panic—suddenly you’re scrambling to start marketing from scratch… again.🤦♀️
And I see this all the time. Businesses struggle with consistency because they don’t have a brand strategy guiding them.
They’re making decisions based on right now, instead of playing the long game.
They sprint, burn out, disappear… then start all over when they need sales.
(And let’s be real—we’ve all seen those brands that only pop up when they’re selling something. Like, excuse me? You haven’t talked to me in six months, but now you want my money? Thanks but no thanks. That's a hard pass.)
If your only driver is “I need money ASAP,” you’ll stay trapped in that exhausting feast-and-famine cycle.
Here’s how you break that cycle for good.
When you have a clear brand strategy—one that defines your mission, positioning, and long-term goals—staying consistent isn’t hard. It’s automatic.
Because when you know why you’re showing up, you’ll always know how to pivot when things shift.
Let’s break it down:
✅ Brand Strategy = Your business’s core mission + what makes you unique
✅ Content Strategy = How you communicate that mission
✅ Tactics = The actions you swap in or out based on your current needs
So if you’re booked out and don’t need a flood of new clients, maybe you:
- Post 2–3 times a week instead of daily
- Focus on nurturing past clients
- Create more authority-building content rather than straight-up promotions
But if you do need more clients? You ramp up your marketing efforts—without abandoning your core strategy.
The reason most people struggle with consistency? They’re flying blind.
So when their needs shift, they panic.
👉 They either go all in… then burn out.
👉 Or they go completely dark… and lose momentum.
But when you have a brand strategy aligned with your long-term goals, you never have to guess your next move.
✅ You won’t disappear when you’re busy.
✅ You won’t freak out when things slow down.
✅ You’ll just adjust your tactics while staying true to your mission.
So ask yourself: Are you following a real strategy, or are you just reacting to whatever’s happening this week in your business?
Because without a clear brand strategy, you’ll always feel like you’re starting from zero when things change.
And building from scratch every. single. time??
That’s not just exhausting; it’s burnout waiting to happen.
