☕️ if I'm exhausted, you’re probably at your wits' end

Look, if I’m exhausted by all the conflicting marketing advice on the internet, then I’m willing to bet you’re at your wits' end.

So let me be the one to tell you…it’s all just f*cking noise.

Half the marketing girlies swearing a specific tactic is "the only way to grow" today were preaching a completely different one three years ago. (And will probably pivot again next year.)

But underneath all the tactics, it's all to get to the same damn goal: Getting people to notice you and care about what you have to offer.

The rotating list of ways to get noticed? Social media, ads, SEO, Pinterest, email, etc.

The method you choose to market yourself doesn’t really matter. Nothing is inherently better or more effective than the other. But what does play a role in your success is how you approach it.

Which brings us to the whole “care about what you have to offer” part.

If you use social media as a bulletin board, you won’t see an ROI like the guy who’s sharing authority-building and connection-driven content.

If you use SEO to keyword stuff your website but don’t have a smooth booking process in place, those eyeballs might immediately bounce and never think about you again.

If you use ads to get in front of a bigger audience but your message doesn’t resonate or make sense to those you’re trying to reach, you’re just creating more noise in their feed.

It literally doesn’t matter what approach you take to market your business. But what DOES matter is the message, the strategy, the value you’re providing via these avenues.

There’s no shortcut in marketing that will outweigh a “bad” brand.

You can’t just assume “if I show up more or if I scream the same message louder, people are bound to pay attention.”

No tactic is magical. No platform is a silver bullet.

But what does move the needle is clarity, cohesion, and strategy.

Once you’ve got that? Pick your platform (literally any of them) and the strategy will work because it’s grounded in something real.

Until next time,

Marissa

Have you noticed your IG and TikTok feeds are starting to feel a little like Netflix, except instead of a cozy binge night, you’re just… dropped into a show mid-season. You open your app, and bam...someone’s posting “Day 4 of XYZ,” and you have no idea what happened on Days 1–3. But suddenly you’re tapping over to their profile, scrolling backward like a digital detective trying to piece together the full plot? Samesies. And you can expect more of it because we’ve officially entered the era...

Ever done a “quick market-research scroll” and wound up questioning your whole business? There you are, mid-day social scroll, iced latte sweating on your desk, when one of your competitors pops up selling half your deliverables for double your rate. Say whaaaat? Queue the mental spiraling. ✨ "How does she justify that? Her results aren't any better than mine?" "Maybe people aren't actually buying? Maybe she's getting pushback..." "Wait, what if I doubled my rates? Could I finally take a...

Can I be blunt? F*ck it, it's my newsletter. I'll be blunt. If following the tips, tricks, and trends you saved on social media were the answer to your problems, you wouldn’t still feel this stuck. You wouldn’t be questioning why your content looks fine but feels off. You wouldn’t be wondering why clients love you but strangers scroll right past. You wouldn't be second guessing if maybe you should switch your visuals up....again. Truth? No trend or tactic will save a brand that’s unclear. And...
