So like why do we all act like our audience is sitting there with a spreadsheet, tracking every post we've ever shared, just WAITING to catch us the second we repeat ourselves??
lollz lemme assure you - there isn't a soul in the world who remembers your content like you do.
The whole damn point of marketing is to repeat yourself enough to be heard and remembered.
So like, deep breath.
You do not have to talk about a client win once and then ban yourself for life from ever mentioning it again.
In fact, that's pretty much the opposite of what you should do.
Because first of all, if someone saw it the first time, they were probably distracted.
And secondly, most of your audience didn't see it at all.
Maybe they were traveling, or they were in the middle of their own launch, or they were scrolling past your post at the exact moment their kid needed something.
Whatever the reason, the reach you got on that initial post was probably a fraction of the people who actually needed to hear the thing.
So instead of constantly asking yourself, "What the hell am I going to post today?"
Let's squeeze a little more juice out of the ideas you already have.
For example, let's say you're a systems or ops girlie.
The core of your business is helping people untangle the chaos happening behind the scenes of their business.
One post concept you could use is a "you say vs. I hear" reframe.
Basically, you take the story your client tells about themselves and correct it from your POV.
Something likeeee:
You say: "I've always been bad at organizing files."
I hear: "You never had a clear system to follow for organizing those files in the first place."
That one idea can become:
- A b-roll video of you typing at your computer with the reframe as text on screen
- A b-roll time-lapse of you organizing someone's backend chaos, with sensitive stuff blurred and that same text on screen
- A carousel case study explaining a client's unorganized chaos situation pre-you versus post-you
- A talking-head video where you simply say the story in the carousel out loud
- A static graphic split down the middle with the two POVs facing off to show different perspectives
You're getting five posts from one concept.
And I haven't even gotten to the good part yet because that's just the first time you publish it.
A few weeks or months later, you can always bring those same posts back into the rotation.
But then you'll be using those posts as your base assets to repurpose from vs. the raw idea.
If you don't already see content this way, I'm gonna need you to stick with me.
But a post is not "one object" it's like three separate parts stacked on top of each other. The visual, the text on screen, and the caption. And each of those parts is independently swappable.
Which means in a few months, you can take that same b-roll of you typing and put a completely different hook on it. Or you can keep the hook that performed and shoot new footage. Or you keep both and rewrite the caption.
It's the same core idea, just configured differently.
And to your audience, it always feels like a new, fresh post. But on your end, you know it's just a few strategic lil swaps.
That's the beauty of content repurposing!
You're getting so much more mileage out of every idea.
And TBH, I think that's a much better use of your time than sitting down every Monday morning and staring at a blank content calendar like it's personally offended you.
Which brings me to this lil freebie: REPURPOSE TF OUTTA YOUR CONTENT
It walks you through how to squeeze the juice out of every content idea, so you're not constantly starting from zero.
If you're tired of feeling like you need to come up with something brand new every damn time you open Instagram, go snag it.
Catch ya next week,
