☕️ content batching? who dis

Can I be so honest with you? There are some days (like today) when I have BUCKETS of information I want to share with you. I consider sending emails at times that aren't Wednesday at 8 am EST, and I have to physically restrain myself so I don't publish every post on my Instagram feed.

And truthfully (because I'm weak and only human), on these days I go buckwild posting trial reels (since y'all can't see it hehe) bc I'm itching to get the content OUT. Out of my brain. Out of my camera roll. And just into the world.

Fun fact. My brain convinces me (and I blame Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert for this) that if I have the idea, someone else will have the EXACT same idea moments later if I don't capitalize on it.

Something about the concept of good ideas bouncing to someone who will listen and act on them f*cking traumatized me in 2015, and my mind has been corrupted by that idea ever since. BUT I DIGRESS.

Some days are like THAT. Where the ideas won't stop flowing and I NEEEDD (queue iconic SpongeBob "I need it" scene) to share all the things with you.

Then...there are days....like yesterday. When you could have put a gun to my head and said, "come up with a piece of content, or I'll shoot," and I'd be dead.

Boom. Blood everywhere. Splattered. Kerplunk to the floor I go.

WHICH IS WHY on the days like today (an inspired creative AF day) it's in my best interest to resist the urge to share every brilliant idea with you all in one swoop (even though I really, really want to) and start batching content to get out on my predetermined posting schedule.

Because that's kinda life. Some days you will be SWAMPED with work and other life responsibilities, so content is just not content-ing from your brain as easily.

If you want any form of content consistency in your life, batching content (aka creating a f*ck ton on the days you're inspired and SAVING IT FOR LATER) is going to be your lifesaver.

And I feel like the internet made batching content so much more complicated than it needs to be, which is why I'm hitting you with this reminder.

Because batching can look like making a few posts in one sitting (like, in full), or it can look like getting all the filming done (and editing later) or vice versa.

It could also look like just getting all the brain chaos out of your noggin and into a rough draft so you can shape it and then design it into its final form another day.

Content will ALWAYSSS be easier to finish if you've already started some part of it.

And creating content becomes so much more fun (no, srsly) when you don't force yourself to do it because you have to hit some hard stop deadline in the next 12 hours.

This is why my Social Strategy & Content Support package comes in so clutch btw.

Because I give you the plan for the ENTIRE month...the month prior. That way you have WEEKS of wiggle room to get the content creation done.

I write out your carousel slides with h1s and body copy, I outline all your shot lists, and map out all the visual direction/script notes you need to get 'er done.

So the only thing that's on you is the actual content creation. There's no figuring out wtf to post (or when to post it).

All you have to do is follow the plan (if you can follow a to-do list, you got this) and record what you need to record, edit what you need to edit, design what you need to design, and then boom - strategic, consistent social content.

One of my clients in this package (who's been churning out social content consistently for the last 3 months) just hit me with the fact that their in-store sales are up 50% since they started...slay! Love that for them!!! And I would LOVEEE more awareness and demand for YOUR offers too.

So this is my lil PSA that I'm currently taking on new Social Strategy clients for November.

If you'd like to get in on the action, fill out this inquiry form and I'll be in touch with next steps!

Catch ya next week,

Marissa

So like why do we all act like our audience is sitting there with a spreadsheet, tracking every post we've ever shared, just WAITING to catch us the second we repeat ourselves?? lollz lemme assure you - there isn't a soul in the world who remembers your content like you do. The whole damn point of marketing is to repeat yourself enough to be heard and remembered. So like, deep breath. You do not have to talk about a client win once and then ban yourself for life from ever mentioning it again....

The number one question I get from people inquiring about my social strategy services is: “What ROI can I expect?” Translation: Can you guarantee I’ll make more money if I hire you??? I love a direct question, so I’m going to give you a direct answer too… sales are not your social media girlie’s responsibility. (I dive into this topic on the latest episode of the podcast, btw) Now, I love a good analogy so stick with me here. But I want you to think about the last time you went to a...

If you built your business one decision at a time and never went back to make sure every decision stacks neatly on top of each other, your brand is 100% talking sh*t behind your back. Like, I know you wrote your about page bio on your website at one point in the very beginning (maybe you've updated it since then....maybe not). Then maybe you threw together your sales deck or a proposal template the night before a call that mattered. Your welcome email, your deliverable templates, etc.. all...
